I just checked on my laptop as well. I have exactly what you have. The
problem seems to be the "%1" (no quotes now) one space after the /e I can not get the %1 to go away no matter what I do. This seems to be the problem. Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of this? You obviously have to replace the path with the path you are using on your
PC, that path reflected on the website was just an example. Find your excel. exe and look up the path and replace this "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /Regserver For instance I use Office 2003 and my version would look like "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Excel.exe" /Regserver note the quotations and also make sure Excel is not running when you do this I usually use this first "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Excel.exe" /Unregserver then after pressing enter and when the hour glass is closed I immediately do "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Excel.exe" /Regserver this can also be important: start Excel go to toolsoptionsgeneral and clear the checkmark if there is one in "Ignore other applications", -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "Bill" wrote in message ... Bill,
I added %1 and then could not delete it... So I could replicate the problem you had... This is what I did to solve it... 1. Delete the XLS type from the Folder Options|Type list. (I guess this is not really required) 2. Followed Peo's suggestion and executed the following from Start|Run "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Excel.exe" /Regserver (I had to change the path from the one given in the link provided by Peo) This solved my problem...
