Hello,
Right, im having a rather annoying little issue with excel at the min. I have some data that has been imported into Excel. Basically, the date format is YYYY/MM/DD hh:mm:ss. Now i want this to be displayed the English version i.e. DD/MM/YY hh:mm yet when i highlight the cells and change the format of them, nothing happens!! I have to go into each cell individually and double click them for the date format to change....is there any way i can force this change without having to click on each cell??? Thanks in advanced. |

Try Data Text to Columns ?
Select the entire col with the date data Click Data Text to Columns Click Next Next In step3 of the wiz, under "Column data format": Check "Date", select "YMD" from the droplist Click Finish Then format the col to display as desired -- Rgds Max xl 97 --- Singapore, GMT+8 xdemechanik http://savefile.com/projects/236895 -- "Benson" wrote in message ... You're quite sure that the earlier suggested
Data Text to Columns steps didn't work ? Maybe upload a small sample copy of your file via a free filehost* and then post the link to it in response here (the link is generated when you upload, just copy and paste it here) *e.g.: http://www.flypicture.com/ Kindly note that no attachments should be posted *directly* to the newsgroup -- Rgds Max xl 97 --- Singapore, GMT+8 xdemechanik http://savefile.com/projects/236895 -- |
