Nope that didnt work...however...i have figured it out lol...your not going
to believe this. When i was selecting the columb to format i was selecting
the letter at the top so it hioghlighted the whole columb...when i selected
just the data instead, it worked!

Try Data Text to Columns ?

Select the entire col with the date data

Click Data Text to Columns
Click Next Next

In step3 of the wiz, under "Column data format":
Check "Date", select "YMD" from the droplist
Click Finish

Then format the col to display as desired

Hello,

Right, im having a rather annoying little issue with excel at the min. I
have some data that has been imported into Excel. Basically, the date

format
is YYYY/MM/DD hh:mm:ss. Now i want this to be displayed the English

version
i.e. DD/MM/YY hh:mm yet when i highlight the cells and change the format

of
them, nothing happens!! I have to go into each cell individually and

double
click them for the date format to change....is there any way i can force

this
change without having to click on each cell???

Thanks in advanced.
