Default Importing a picture behind worksheet?

Is there a way you can import a picture into a spreadsheet and still be able
to see the spreadsheet cells on top of the picture? All my attempts at trying
to send the picture to the back still result in it covering the spreadsheet
cells.

Grateful for advice.

Thanks for this. My picture is quite small and ends up being tiled over the
whole spreadsheet. Is there a way to get it to appear just once? I am using
Excel 2000.

This is the background property and hence it will get displayed all
over..Without setting this as background you will not be able to work with
the cells on top..

What type of picture is it?

Some graphics can have their transparency altered so's you can see through.

jpgs and bmps or tifs cannot be altered.
