Dear excel-professionals!
How to I get a chart that looks simlar to the following (here shown with
characters)

Skala1 __________--X-------__________
Skala2 __________-------X--__________
Skala3 ________X_-----------__________
etc.

That means
1) the possible range of values is 1 to 100
2) each line has a "norm-range", fx 40 to 60, that should have a grey
background (here shown as hyphen "-")
3) the range outside the norm range (ie 1 to 40 and 60 to 100) can stay
white/blank (here shown as underscore "_")
4) each line has a "value" to be shown as black dot or similar (here shown
as "X")

1 to 100 are percents
40 to 60 is a so called norm-range, but can also have different values in
each line
"Value" is a test-result to be shown in relation to norm-range (laying
within or outside norm range).

It sounds like you could use a Bar chart with 3 series, 0-40, 40-60, 60-100.

Well, yes, I tried a stapled bar, had another columne for "value" and
changed that to an XY-Matrix chart. But a cannot fit the dots over the
respective bars. Anyway, this kind of chart describes values in percentage
withing a Gauss distribution (not sure I got the translation right) which is
standard fx in a lot of (psychological) tests. I thought there must be a
standard chart and that I just cannot find it. But thanks anyway. Regards -
