Worksheets in a workbook?
Hi all
New around here and wondered if someone could tell me please how many worksheets I can get into an Excel 97 workbook. I could do with storing a lot of files and didn't want to link outside the workbook if I can help it - had too many bad experiences with data movement and corruption when linked to external sheets. Any help greatly appreciated Thanks Bob ..-.-. |

Worksheets by themselves, pretty much limited by memory only so if empty you
can pretty much keep going. If you put stuff in them though, then that varies depending on what type of data you have in there and what sort of volume. If you filled an entire sheet with data in every cell then it may well die on you if you try copying the sheet just once. -- Regards Ken....................... Hi Ken
Many thanks for your reply. I was planning to run what I would have thought of as reasonably average spreadsheets in the book with links in-between the pages. I have used linked books extensively and found data integrity in terms of data shifting in tables and lookups going haywire to be quite common place. This is an attempt to stop as much of this movement as I can and to make storage and recall of files as easy as possible - there again I may have just ruined that idea because of file/sheet finding & recovery in the book if it gets big - really big. Hmmmmmm Thanks again, maybe I need to think it over again Regards Bob |

You don't explain what you're doing but if you have multiple sheets and links and lots of data you might be using the wrong program. gls858 |

Hard to determine what big really means. Must admit I don't really like
linked workbooks myself, but linked worksheets I've had very few problems with. Your call though. -- Regards Ken.......................
