creating a equation for a column
how do i set up a rule for excel to do the following. i want column b to be c
divided by 11. but i want it to calculate for each row. example c2 reads 110 so it will automatically show 11 in b2. in c4 the number is 990 so b4 should read 99. is there anyway i can create a rule or something along those lines or in each line do i need to type in say b2 (=c2/11) and in b4 (=c4/11)? |

You can copy the formula in the top formula cell down by dragging its bottom
right-hand corner (ie the fill handle - looks like a black square when you point the cursor to it) Place in B2: =C2/11 Drag B2 down Btw, I'm not sure if the formula in B2 should be: =C2/10, going by the returns that you expect (as you describe in your post) -- Max Singapore http://savefile.com/projects/236895 Downloads:18,000 Files:359 Subscribers:56 xdemechanik --- "Theo" wrote: how do i set up a rule for excel to do the following. i want column b to be c divided by 11. but i want it to calculate for each row. example c2 reads 110 so it will automatically show 11 in b2. in c4 the number is 990 so b4 should read 99. is there anyway i can create a rule or something along those lines or in each line do i need to type in say b2 (=c2/11) and in b4 (=c4/11)? |

creating a equation for a column
sorry i may have worded the question poorly. What i want is in each row of
the B column to be the digit in the same row of the C column divided by 11. example A B C 1 110 2 990 3 11 4 260 5 213 i want to somehow set it up so that in b1 it calculates c1/11 and in b2 it calculates c2/11 is there somehow to set it up? or must i do it each row manually "Theo" wrote: how do i set up a rule for excel to do the following. i want column b to be c divided by 11. but i want it to calculate for each row. example c2 reads 110 so it will automatically show 11 in b2. in c4 the number is 990 so b4 should read 99. is there anyway i can create a rule or something along those lines or in each line do i need to type in say b2 (=c2/11) and in b4 (=c4/11)? |

a. In all honesty, I believe my interp of your original posting wasn't off.
Pl re-read my earlier response and try it out. It addresses your queries. If it somehow doesn't, then I don't know any further. b. Pl reply to responses in the proper way, ie post it as a reply to the responder(s), not as a reply to your own posting. -- Max Singapore http://savefile.com/projects/236895 Downloads:18,000 Files:359 Subscribers:56 xdemechanik --- "Theo" wrote: sorry i may have worded the question poorly.
