Default cant read my excel, its just jumble of numbers and symbols!!!help!

Hi, I am trying to download a manual from the internet but when i do it just
downloads into jumbles of letters, symbols and numbers. I know its probably
easy to fix but I just cant seem to hit the right button.
I hope someone can help me

Sounds like you don't have the application in which the manual was written.
What is the extension of the downloaded file?

Sounds like you don't have the application in which the manual was written.

have been in the format of filename.ext - the "ext" will tell you what
application you need to open it.

Hi again Gordon, it says its a pdf file? Does this make a difference. It
automatically opens in excel then.

You need to download and install acrobat reader
