![]() set a cell equal to the date that you want to compare the dates on your spreadsheet to. for example put this date in cell A1 highlight one of the cells that contains a date that you want to evaluate. goto the menu bar and choose format -conditional formatting set condition 1 = cell valie is , less than, and then choose cell a1 in the next field (should look like this =$A$1) then set the setting to your liking by highlighting or bolding the test. now use the copy format tool to all of your cells with dates and the ones that are less than cell A1 will have the formatt that you chose in the conditinal formatting setting.
