Default mastery level thinking

for calculating p/e 's for 2005 and 2006, earnings for 2005 and 2006 are
u.r. so to calculate the overall p/e s i have to remove the price for
the companies whose earnings is u.r. you can see in the datesheet.xls

how can you write a formula (more than one criteria maybe)
when a cell is not a number
so that i can find true total aggregate numbers

i have tried to form a criteria and sumproduct formula
but more than one earnings or criterias it is not useful

and could not go any further

are the any masters over there to write a formula to find the correct
result
P/e for 2005E : 44.4 and 2006E 28.6

thanks in advance
