Click on the the Format option in the top toolbar (in xl2003 and below)
Then click on Cell Then click on the Number tab Choose Number from the category on the left hand side. Choose details the way you like (decimals and 1000's separator) cb wrote: u did not say what to select select number then what? Number, and zero decimal places, if that's what you want, and make sure that
your cell is wide enough to take the number or else it will change back to scientific. -- David Biddulph "cb" wrote in message ... u did not say what to select select number then what? For noremal numbers, medium & small, make sure the format is not scientific:
Format Cells... Number General For BIG NUMBERS like: 1234567890123 Excel will default to scientific unless you format as Custom 0000000000000 -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200776 "cb" wrote: TYPING NUMBERS IN A CELL WHEN I GO TO ANOTHER CELL THE NUMBERS APPEAR DIFFERENT AND WITH + SIGNS LIKE THIS 5.63209E+11 HOW DO I CLEAR IT ? |

If you type 12 and the cell shows:
1.20E+01 Then the display is scientific. To fix, select the cell and pull-down: Format Cells...
