Default copy avg results

I have calculated average using the average function, I want to copy those
results to another worksheet, but when I copy the number it comes up as #REF!
in the cell of the new worksheet. How do I copy the results to another
worksheet? I use Excel 2000

Copy, then Edit/Paste Special - values
