Default sharing violation

i just bought a new PC, i saved all my excel worksheets and downloaded in
onto my new PC - HOWEVER when i make changes to my worksheet and try to save
it it tells me there is A SHARING VIOLATION???
WHAT DO I DO NOW

Default sharing violation

If you saved your files to a CD and then put them back on your HardDrive,
then try this.....
In Windows Explorer, Right-click on one of the files and do Properties, and
see if the General Tab says it's "read only"...if so, uncheck it.....if not,
check the securities Tab for anything that looks funny.........

Default sharing violation

On my XL97 it's right there at the top of the Properties pop-up, right next
to the "General" tab...........the one that comes up when you Right-click on
a file in Windows Explorer...............dunno about other versions of XL
