Default Get excel 2005 to line up damn dollar signs properly. Idiots.

If only I could attach this darn spreadsheet. It looks awful, and I can't
get the dollar signs to line up properly on the left hand side. This should
be a default. Speaking of which: Excel 2000, third pull-down under formating
cells, accounting, has the option of using the following to properly use
parentheses with negative numbers and dollar signs:

_($* #,##0.00_);_($* (#,##0.00);_($* "-"??_);_(@_)

However, in their infinite wisdom, someone deleted this default from Excel
2005. There is likely a way of saving it in custome settings, but I don't
know how and have to do it in each individual sheet. What happened?
