Default HELP needed to remove 2nd spreadsheet within a workbook

I have a large workbook containing 10 worksheets. It's quite large. Somehow -
and I don't know how, I created a copy of my workbook that open behind (next
to) my original workbook. I can see the copy by dragging a white colume that
appears on the right of my worksbook pages. If I highlight a cell or row in
the original, it also highlihgts (and changes text) in the copy. I need to
know how to get rid of that copy. Don't know how it got created, don't know
how to get rid of it. Will be eternally thankful to anyone who can help me.

Most likely caused by WindowNew Window and you now have two views of same
workbook named workbook.xls:1 and workbook.xls:2

Close one of them then save the remaining copy.

hi
guessng but it sounds like you have opened a new window.
on the menu barwindownew window. this created a copy of the active file.
at the bottome of the dropdown menu, your file name should appear twice.
to get rid of it......close the new(extra) window. do so by clicking the
small x under the large red x in the upper left of the screen.

Assuming that you are using Word 2007, on the ribbon open view and unselect
"split". If that doesn't work, click on cell A1 on the upper left version.
Then move the mouse to the little white bar next to the scroll arrows. When
the mouse changes to the Up/Down or Left/Right slider icon, left click and
move the bar to the top and/or the right. The split function is a normal
function of Excel. Hope this helps!
