Default formatting of cells used as abs or rel reference is lost

How do I maintain the originally formatting of text in a cell (ex. certain
characters - but not all - a certain color or bold etc) when using this cell
as an absolute reference?

Formulas do not transfer formatting...

So you can not get the formatting of A1 by using a refernce (abosolute or
relative)
