Sorry, I misread the Question !!!!
-- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "Bernard Liengme" wrote in message ... This is not standard behaviour. In Excel 2003 (on two PCs) typing 3/4 gives me 03-Apr (I'm Canadian but 4/3 give 04-Mar). The same happens in Excel 2007. Open a new workbook and type it ion a new worksheet. Tell us what happens In time you will find XL outshines QP (but I still love WP over Word) best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "RealGomer" wrote in message ... Oh, for the days of Quattro Pro. When I enter a date into Excel into a blank cell as 3/4, Excel insists on displaying it as 4-Mar and not 3-4-2009. The numeric format is set as the default under Control Panel - Regional & Language Options - Short Date / English (United States). All of the cells in the column prior to the blank cell are also formatted as numeric date. What to do? -- Für Elise - Support the Breast Cancer & Heart Foundations |
