Default Update links question?????????? I'm baffled!!!

I have produced a file on excel. On this file I have not set up any links at
all. But all of the sudden when I open the file it asks if I wish to update
the links.
Why has this happened!!!!!!!!?????? Any ideas?

Sophie,

Somehow a link has managed to get in. To clear it click

Edit|Links

and you get a popup with links to external sources and you have choices and
I suspect the one you want is 'Break Links'

Thanks Mike I did that but some of my formulas dont work. I get #NAME?
indicated in the cell and when I redo the formula it still gives me #NAME?

Default Update links question?????????? I'm baffled!!!

Probably you have a name (Insert / Name / Define) linked at another file. You
would you be able to break the link (Edit / Links) unless you change where
the name is pointing to. Good luck.
