I have produced a file on excel. On this file I have not set up any links at
all. But all of the sudden when I open the file it asks if I wish to update the links. Why has this happened!!!!!!!!?????? Any ideas? -- Sophie |

Sophie,
Somehow a link has managed to get in. To clear it click Edit|Links and you get a popup with links to external sources and you have choices and I suspect the one you want is 'Break Links' Mike "Sophie" wrote: I have produced a file on excel. Thanks Mike I did that but some of my formulas dont work. I get #NAME?
indicated in the cell and when I redo the formula it still gives me #NAME? -- Sophie "Mike H" wrote: Sophie, Somehow a link has managed to get in. I'd use Bill Manville's FindLink program:

Probably you have a name (Insert / Name / Define) linked at another file. You
would you be able to break the link (Edit / Links) unless you change where the name is pointing to. Good luck. "Sophie" wrote: Thanks Mike I did that but some of my formulas dont work.
