Default Read Only

I have a workbook and when opened comes up as read-only. If I save with
another name, it does the same thing. Acting like the file is running in the
background. I close Excel and reopen and still can't open the file without
it being a read only. It is not set up that way and I've check the properties
of this file.
Any suggestions??? Thanks

If you right click on the file icon, go to properties and make sure that the
read only box is not checked.
