import file
Hi, I have all of my personal addresses in an AnyTime file. I have exported
it as a .csv file. I then open Excel and when I try to import it, it says cannot access "address.csv". this is my personal computer so there shouldn't be any problems with permission rights. if anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Mindy |

I guess the program could be locked by some other program or previous instance of Excel. Have you tried to restart your PC? /Fredrik |

I don't have a guess, but can you open the .csv file in NotePad via File|Open?
If no, it sounds like something is locking that file. (Rebooting usually fixes that, sigh.) Can you copy that file to a new .csv file and open that one? Can you create it again using AnyTime? Heck, maybe it's Anytime that's locking the file. Have you tried accessing the file when Anytime isn't running (maybe when Anytime hasn't even been started???). I have tried all your suggestions but I cannot open that file. I even
renamed the file but that didn't help either. Does anyone know the software Anytime Deluxe? That's the program I need the information out of. If you wouldn't mind taking a look at it, I would really appreciate it!
Don't worry, it doesn't have any sensitive information. I'm getting married next month so I'm trying to export the addresses to help with the envelopes. What email address should I send the file to? Hi guys,
I finally got it! Turns out it needed to be a .txt file, not a .csv file. Mindy "Dave Peterson" wrote: gibberish if you open that emailed copy in Notepad/wordpad, too? "Mindy" wrote in message ... Hi guys, I finally got it! Turns out it needed to be a .txt file, not a .csv file. Hi Nice catch! I think there's a problem with csv files if they start with a particular character, Excel apparently becomes confused and claims the file is invalid or similar. I hope the wedding goes well. /Fredrik |
