Default Excel 2007 Error Message

Every time I start Excel 2007 I get message "The file you are trying to open
'PDFMaker.1' is in a different format than that specified by the file
extension. Verify ~
Message started when I upgraded to Office 2007.
Excel works OK after I click either Yes or No but would like to get rid of
this annoyance.

There is a file in your XLstart folder or you have a add-in installed that is not ok for 2007.

First check the add-ins

Click the Microsoft Office button, click Excel Options, click the Add-Ins tab.
In the Manage drop-down, click Excel Add-ins, and click Go.

See if there is a PDF add-in in the list
Uncheck it and try again

If this is not the problem post back

Default Excel 2007 Error Message

Hi Ron,

I have problem similar to Chuck's. When I try to open Excel spreadsheets
from a reporting application, I get the message, "The file you are trying to
open, 'objectviewer.csp', is in a different format than specified by the file
extension. Verify that they file is not corrupt..."

Like Chuck, I click Yes and it works fine. But I open 5-10 per day and if
Excel is already open, I have to switch windows to Excel before I can
continue. Too annoying. Is there a way I can disable that? Thanks in advance.

I am getting this same error message. I checked the add-ins as you suggested
and none are checked. Is there any way to turn off this message?

The message you are replying to has "fallen off" the newsserver. Perhaps
quote the message you replied to?
