Default Pivot Graphs

Hi

I use Pivots to summarize data and then create a graph from the Pivot.

I then customise the colours of the Pie chart.

The problem I have is that if I drag different fields onto the Pie chart, I
lose my custom colours on my chart. The chart reverts to using standard
colours.

I have tried to ceate a custom chart look and set this as my Default Chart
Type, but although it initally uses this default when I create a chart, if I
drag fields on or off the chart, the colours go back to the original defaults.

I hope this makes sense. Please help!!

Regards
Teach

Default Pivot Graphs

Hi Debra

Thanks for your reply. I think it might do the trick.

This is a know problem with pivot charts. Instead of changing the
colours in the pivot chart, you could modify the standard colours in the
workbook:

On the Tools menu, click Options
Click the Color tab
In the row of Chart fills, click on the first colour block
Click the Modify button
Select the colour that you want, then click OK
Change any of the other fills or Chart lines colours, then click OK
