Default modify how files are displyed in the "file open" window

when i push the file open button, i want to show the most currently used
folders first and after all the folders are listed, list the most recently
used file next

i tried to arrange by date and it lists them all backwards

please email me when you have responded

Folders are shown in alphabetical order, not by date created or used.

You can arrange files by date from new to old, but the folders will drop to the
bottom of the list.

I don't think you can configure the way you want.

I believe the default view is "List".

If you click the Views icon, then click on "Details", you'll get a Header
row, where you can then determine how the files and folders will be
displayed by clicking in the headers to pick ascending or descending, by
dates, or names, or size, ...etc.

This should work for all versions.
Different versions work more easily.

My XL2K machine gives these options without having to go to the "Details"
view.

Just click the small down arrow next to the View icon.

But, Brett wants them sorted by date new to old and still wants the folders at
top.

Cannot be done IMO.
