Default Why doesn't my file open in other computers?

I'm using MS office 2003. Recently, when I check the properties of some
excel files, I find that they are abnormally too large in size. They open in
my computer, but when I copy on flash disk and try to read in other computers
with excel, they can't open, and sometimes the file opens with garbled text?
What is the problem? How can I solve it?
