Default encryption, not avaiable? Office 2007

I desire to encrypt a newly recovered and repaired file. After selecting
"Prepare" the encryption icon is not active / grey. Is there an option,
selection deep in the options somewhere I have to activate to enable
encryption, what am I not seeing here to activate encryption action /
avaialability?

Hi

Do you mean Protection?
If so, right click on the Sheet tab and you will the option to Protect Sheet
(or Unprotect if already Protected)

Yvez T.T. Constance -

You cannot encrypt a shared workbook.

If it's shared, to "unshare" it, choose Review | Share Workbook | Editing,
and uncheck the "Allow changes" box.
