It is possible to manipulate the workbook, but not the Excel application. If
I open an Excel file and close it the application will not automatically close with it and will not display the X button. So the only way to close it would be through alt F4 or Task Manager - End Task, which is annoying. What can I do to restore the display of Max, Min and Close options on the application level. Thank you, Zoya |

Hi Zoya,
A few questions and suggestions. mainly clutching at straws but these need to be eliminated as the source of the problem Firstly what version of xl are you using? Are you not able to see any of the title bar or just the Minimize, Restore and Close buttons missing from the title bar? If entire title bar is missing, do you have the Microsoft Office toolbar at the top of your screen and it is hiding the title bar of the application? I have had this occur intermittently in the past through some glitch in the system and I have closed it altogether. Does the problem occur with other applications? If so, and you are using the old style CRT monitor, try adjusting the monitor controls for the screen size. It might be sitting off the screen. Hi Zoya,
I can't think of anything else and I don't have your version of xl to test anything. In xl2002 you can right click on the title bar and close from there. I know that doesn't fix your problem but it might be better than nothing if it works. Sorry but can't offer any more suggestions.
