Default Microsoft windows Error

Can't locate original question on board. I am unable to open an EXCEL file.
It comes up with an error that when reported informs me that the error is
with Microsoft Office and perhaps I should upgrade. I did receive a
response suggesting that I down load SP3 , which I did and it came up that
the file was not located. I assume they meant OFFICE. Then I repaired
Microsoft Office. Didn't work. Then I reinstalled OFFICE - still nothing. My
other EXCEL file open fine. I need the information in the file I can't keep
open. Anymore suggestions?
