Default fill handle

I have a similar (converse) problem to the message titled "fill handle" and
dated 5/17/06:

The fill handle does not do anything but copy. Right-clicking gives me only
the copy option, the boxes in tools, options, edit are all checked, and then
edit, fill, series option is grayed out. In fact any option other than copy,
is grayed out.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Doubtful that anyone remembers the message you're referring to without a
link. Was there a solution offerred?

A hint to posters: Specific, detailed questions are more likely to be

Default fill handle

It is possible to do an Advanced Google Groups search with
a date range searching on fill-handle which would include fill-handle,
fillhandle, "fill handle" but the poster should supply the link. In any
case I would expect that my webpage would cover the topic better,
or at least supply insight in a more properly phrased question.

This is the thread, the poster wanted two cells to be repeated
over and over again.

A1: 'aa
B1: 'bb

select range A1:B1 then drag the fill handle down

Default fill handle

and if they were numbers to be repeated
a1: 1
a2: 2
and you wanted to copy down 1,2, 1, 2, 1, 2
then you would select A1:A2, and hold the Ctrl key as you drag down.

if you wanted numbers to increment by 3
A1: 1
A2: 4
so you get 1,4, 7, 10, 13, 16
then simply select A1:A2 and drag the fill handle down
