Default I don't want the copyright symbol when typing "(c)" in excel

Is there anyway to turn off the copyright symbol when typing (c) in a cell in
excel?

One way:

Turn of autocorrect (Tools/Autocorrect, uncheck the Replace as you type
checkbox).

Another:

Remove the autocorrect entry (same dialog as above). Note that this will
remove it from all Office apps.

You can undo the autocorrect on an each-time basis by typing CTRL-z.
