rossu said: I have a surface contour polot and I wanted to change the axis labels, so I clicked Select Data Source and clicked edit under horizontal axis labels. I proceeded to type in a bunch of labels as ={0,10,20,..}. I noticed that there was an error in one of the labels and tried to edit them. I clicked on edit again and then clicked in the text that was there. The text I needed to fix wasn't visible so I hit the right arrow to move in that direction and XL inserted a cell reference! In many parts of Excel, you have to remember to type F2 after making the text box the focus, and before starting to use the navigation keys, or else it thinks you're navigating in the spreadsheet instead of in the box. It's annoying, and I always forget, but once you make the first keystroke and discover your mistake, you should be able to hit F2, then backspace over the inserted cell reference before entering your text. However, as Jon says, isn't using a range of cells, then referring to that range, going to be easier in the long run? -- Del Cotter NB Personal replies to this post will send email to , which goes to a spam folder-- please send your email to del3 instead. |
