trouble editing axis labels
I have a surface contour polot and I wanted to change the axis labels, so I
clicked Select Data Source and clicked edit under horizontal axis labels. I proceeded to type in a bunch of labels as ={0,10,20,..}. I noticed that there was an error in one of the labels and tried to edit them. I clicked on edit again and then clicked in the text that was there. The text I needed to fix wasn't visible so I hit the right arrow to move in that direction and XL inserted a cell reference! There appears to be no way to access th faulty text short of erasing the whole string and retyping it. The only solution appears to be to put the thing in a range of cells and referencing that. However, I should be able to edit directly. |

Isn't using the cells so much easier? You can see the labels without opening
the source data dialog, and you can change a single item by changing one cell. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com _______ "rossu" wrote in message ... In many parts of Excel, you have to remember to type F2 after making the text box the focus, and before starting to use the navigation keys, or else it thinks you're navigating in the spreadsheet instead of in the box. It's annoying, and I always forget, but once you make the first keystroke and discover your mistake, you should be able to hit F2, then backspace over the inserted cell reference before entering your text. However, as Jon says, isn't using a range of cells, then referring to that range, going to be easier in the long run? -- Del Cotter NB Personal replies to this post will send email to , which goes to a spam folder-- please send your email to del3 instead. |
