I feel there is a necessity to have a template like the NORMAL Template in
Word on Excel; I am not able to find it in MS OFFICE 2003. Alternatively, At least we should have a provision to transfer styles from one spread sheet to another to same time on repeated formatting. Such a facility is anyway already available in MS WORD; so why not in EXCEL? |

Hi
It is Book.xlt and is normally found in your XLSTART folder. You can create any number of Xlt (Template files) for different needs, and start from any one of them. FileNew will offer you the opportunity of opening any template as your starting point for a new workbook. -- Regards Roger Govier "PROF. GOVARDHAN JAYANTHI" <PROF. GOVARDHAN wrote in message ... Open a new workbook. Customize as you wish.
FileSave As Type: scroll down to Excel Template(*.XLT) and select. Name your workbook "BOOK"(no quotes). Excel will add the .XLT to save as BOOK.XLT. Store this workbook in the XLSTART folder usually located at........ C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART This will be the default workbook for FileNew or the Toolbar button FileNew or CTRL + n WARNING................Do not use FileNew...Blank Workbook or you will get the Excel default workbook. NOTE: Existing workbooks are not affected by these settings. You can also open a new workbook and delete all but one sheet. Customize as you wish then save this as SHEET.XLT in XLSTART folder also. It now becomes the default InsertSheet. More can be found on this in Help under "templates"(no quotes). Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Wed, 15 Oct 2008 01:00:01 -0700, PROF. GOVARDHAN JAYANTHI <PROF.
