Pasting problem?

I'm cutting a column of cells but when I paste into a word table the data shows as several cells in one cell instead of separating over several cells i.e. I could edit the data into one sentence if I wanted to but they were separate cells in Excel 2007?

Sure it is something simple when I know how? Any pointers please?
