A question of time
If I have the time 21:00 in cell I5 and 23:30 in J5, the formula =(J5-I5)*24
gives me the result 2.5. However if the time in J5 is changed to 1:00(representing the next day) how do I get Excel to recognize that I am going into the next day. Right now I am getting a result - 20.0 I do remember seeing this somewhere but now I can not find it Thanks |

A question of time
You have to let Excel know it is "next day"
2/2/2010 23:30 in I5 2/3/2010 1:00 in J5 Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Tue, 2 Feb 2010 11:40:01 -0800, Marsh wrote: If I have the time 21:00 in cell I5 and 23:30 in J5, the formula =(J5-I5)*24 gives me the result 2.5.
