Pre-2007 Excel: Try using File -- Page Setup and going to the [Sheet] tab in
the dialog and choosing "Over then Down" for the Page order when printed. Excel 2007: "Page Layout" ribbon, pull down the list in the Sheet Options group and make the same setting change. "Secretariat" wrote: Added about 10 columns in a work sheets with more than 200 rows. When page numbers were added to the footer in the excel spread sheet, the page with the first 5 columns were numbered page 1. Then the next page with the same 5 columns were numbered page 2 and so on till all rows with the first 5 columns were completed. Then the next 5 columns from the very first page got the next sequential number. For example, if one had 10 pages of rows, then page 11 was assigned to columns 5 to 10 of the first page. This becomes very confusing when viewing a printed spread sheet. What I would like to see is: Columns 1 to 5 from page one numbered as page 1. Then Columns 5 to 10 from same page numbered as page 2, and so on until the columns get exhausted. Then the next row gets numbered, followed by the columns. Does anyone know how to switch the page numbering in a footer from rows first and then the columns, to columns first and then the rows? |
