Default Excell templates

What you do depends upon how you want to use the Template.

Do you want to continue using as a Template or just as a regular workbook?

Since it is a Template, you can alter the Template and re-save it

1. Open as a Template(*.xlt) and delete all information then save as a
Template

Whenever you click on the Template to open, you will get a new workbook with
no data ready for you to fill in.

2. Open a workbook based on the Template and delete the data then save As a
Template............overwriting the original.

OR.................I would do this

Open a workbook based on the Template and delete data, add your own for a
day then save as a regular workbook.

From then on, use that workbook to add daily data, not the Template.

The Chart will look after itself as data is deleted and entered.

Do a SaveAs (found on the Office dialog) so you have an XLSX file
Now it is not a template but a simple workbook and you can change it.

I am a new Excell user. I found and downloaded a template for tracking
blood
sugar.
My question is: How do I remove the values already in the template and add
my own,
also create the chart from the data added? All assistance would greatly be
appreciated. I need a step by step how to do to get this done.
I have MS Office 2007 and am running Vista Home Premium

Regards,
Al

Thanks for the info....Next questions is "what is under the covers" so to speak as how the chart is created in the downloaded template? Is ther a macro or something being used to create the chart?

Regards,
Al

I downloaded the template from

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...CT101443491033

Gord,

Thanks for the help: now have what I wanted.
