How is it possible to save a spreadsheet / workbook as an interactive webpage
in office 2007 that can be used online

If I understand your question correctly, in Excel 2007, press Alt+F+A,
in the SaveAs window, select the "Save as type" as "web page", you have
the option to select the entire workbook or worksheet, click on Publish,
check the option "Open published webpage in browser" and click on
Publish.

I have not tested this resolution at my end though.

Thank you for a swift reply
I tried your suggestion prior to posting for help and the method you point
out will only save a static web page which does not allow any cell
integration.

I was hoping to put up an html page online where users can input criterea
into a cell to obtain a result

hope this makes sense.

When saving as web page all you need to do to make this happen is to
select the *Add Interactivity check box* in the Save As dialog box at
