Default how do i expand and collapse rows

I need to expand and collapse ROWS, I want main info seen and rows below it
collapsed so I can expand as needed, How do i do that?? i keep trying but
it's not working out very well!

Two options come to mind:

1) You can hide rows

2) You can set a freeze pane so, as you scroll down, you continue to see
headings at the top of the page

Default how do i expand and collapse rows

This is just what the subtotals command can be used for. If your data is in a
list, yiou can use the subtotals command to insert subtotals based on groups
of data. You can expand or collaps the data groups that you want. The
command is located on the Data menu in 2003 and the Data tab in 2007.

Yes, that might also be what the OP sought. The main point here would be to
uncheck the "summary data below" option to show data below the summary.

Hi,

This is also what pivot table often do and they are much more powerful and
flexible than the Data, Subtotal command once you learn them. For example to
expand and collapse the data under a particular category just double click
the category row and all the detail is shown or hidden.
