This is just what the subtotals command can be used for. If your data is in a
list, yiou can use the subtotals command to insert subtotals based on groups of data. You can expand or collaps the data groups that you want. The command is located on the Data menu in 2003 and the Data tab in 2007. -- Dave Herard MOS Master Instructor Microsoft Certified Trainer www.clicknlearnct.com "AltaEgo" wrote: Two options come to mind: 1) You can hide rows XL2003 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...CH062527931033 XL2007 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...CH100648381033 2) You can set a freeze pane so, as you scroll down, you continue to see headings at the top of the page XL2003 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...33#FreezePanes XL2007 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...33#FreezePanes -- Steve "office wreck!" <office wrote in message ... Yes, that might also be what the OP sought. The main point here would be to
uncheck the "summary data below" option to show data below the summary. -- Steve "DJH6064" wrote in message ... This is just what the subtotals command can be used for. Hi,
This is also what pivot table often do and they are much more powerful and flexible than the Data, Subtotal command once you learn them. For example to expand and collapse the data under a particular category just double click the category row and all the detail is shown or hidden. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button.
