Hi,
I have never used excel for math problems before and am having a little trouble with basic equations. I entered the eqn in the function (using the column names such as G1-G2 etc...) but now I'm a little lost. When I drag the equation down to fill in the rest of the column nothing happens. Is there an intermediate step I'm missing? Thank you!!! |

Hm...it still didn't fill in. Maybe I'm still doing things in the wrong
order? Can you explain exactly how to do it and I'll see if it works? I have excel 2007 btw--my friend said she had trouble filling in columns with the new version. Thank you so much! M --
Are you dragging the cell down correctly? First click on it to select it, and you'll see a little black box in the lower right corner of the cell. Drag that little black box in the direction you want to copy the formula. HTH "M121385" wrote: Hm...it still didn't fill in. Maybe I'm still doing things in the wrong order? A formula must begin with an = sign.
=G1-G2 entered in H1 and drag/copy down. Make sure ToolsOptionsCalculation is set to automatic.
