Default Sort cells populated with an Indirect function.

I have a spreadsheet where some of the columns are populated using an
INDIRECT function. I would like to sort these columns, but seem unable to do
so. Is it possible to do this, or does the INDIRECT function not allow the
cells to be sorted?
