Default Autofilter and Subtotals

I have a list of data to which I would like to add subtotals. I would like
to exclude some data though. I have searched and tried several reponses here
but I am unable to get this to work. Once completed I need to copy the
filtered subtotal to another location. If I filter the data first and then
subtotal the level control goes away and I cant get just the subtotals. If I
Subbtotal first then filter all of the subtotals go from correct values to
zero. What is the process or what am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

Default Autofilter and Subtotals

If you don't mind using an additional worksheet, and you don't have to do it
often, you can first filter, select the visible cells (Alt+;), copy them to a
new worksheet and do the subtotals there.
If you are doing it often, I would recommend to use pivot tables. With that
you can have at the same time the filter and the subtotals, and even there
are formulas like GETPIVOTDATA that may help you to avoid the last copy of
the subtotals.

Hope this helps,
Miguel
