Is there a way to drag (not copy) conditional formatting across multiple rows?

I would rather not format every single row :)

Frawst,

You could have selected multiple rows prior to formatting to format all at
once, or immediately after conditional formatting, select next row to cf,
hit F4.... (you could even skip rows here)

Thanks for the quick response.
My problem is that there's a row specific reference in the conditional
formatting, so I really need a drag and fill.

Frawst

Use the Format Painbrush icon.

Don't forget to double-click the Brush to lock it on as you select cells and
rows.

Single-click when done to unlock.

Select the cell with the formatting, double click on the paint brush then
you can just select the rows you want to format, finish by pressing escape
or click the paint brush again once

it is a $ reference, at the top of the row.
If I remove it it floats down the row.
I need the absolute reference

(I honestly think the answer is suck it up and format each of your rows, I
just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something before I did)

What is your condition (ex: "formula is" "=b1=4")? If you've got relative
references in the formula (that is, b1 and not $b$1), they should adjust
properly if you copy the CF.
