Default VLOOKUP or HLOOKUP??

using amortization table, with pmt#, date, beg balance, pmt, int, principle,
end bal, payments calculate for 20 yr and 30 yr terms,(240-360 rows of
calcuations) trying to use a lookup to find the payoff date with using
accelerated payments. E.g., calculated pmt is say 4639.20 and actual pmt is
5650. When payoff is reached it show the orig payoff and another cell
containing the new payoff. any thoughts?
