Hi,
Assuming that you want (a1-a2)/a2,(a2-a3)/a3,... in Column, say C (C1,C2,C3.....) Then,in C1 put the formula as =(a1-a2)/a2 Then select C1 and drag from C1 downwards to C2,c3,....(or copy from C1 to C2,C3 ....) Will this help you? Thanking you, K.S.Warrier "Confused" wrote: Your formula is rather confusing. A2-A3/A3?? (A number divided by itself will always equal 1) So you could replace it with A2-1 A3-1 A4-1 Remember divides and multiplys occur before pluses and minues, so unless you meant (A2-A3)/A3... -----Original Message----- im trying to calculate stock returns. i need to apply a formula to a whole column and i dont know how. A1-A2/A2. but how to i do that for the whole colum? A2-A3/A3, A3-A4/A4..etc. please help |
