I consolidate management accounts on a monthly basis. Each month's management
accounts are saved in one folder. In the following month I receive new management accounts and I save them in a new folder. Thereafter, I copy the consolidated management accounts from the prior month "linked document" into the new month's folder. I then open the consolidated document and update links - Edit/Links/Change source and click on the new source workbook. When click on the new source workbook sometimes nothing happens and it some instances I get a message that the formula is too long. Regards Thami |

If you move the workbooks into folders that are not so deeply nested, does it
work ok? (Try to make the path to those folders much smaller in length.) I would think that would help with the error message. I'm not sure why your links aren't updating.
