I am trying to use =HEX2DEC(cell) but keep getting the "NAME" error. I
believe it is because this is not listed in my available functions.

How can I get these functions added to my copy of EXCEL?

If your version of Excel is prior to 2007, you probably have not added the
Analysis Tool Pak.

If you look at HELP for the function, you will see a paragraph of what to do if
you see a #NAME error.

Also, HELP is a good place to look first, in general, for various Excel
problems.

This function show #NAME if the Analysys Toolpak is not installed.
GotoToolsAdd-Ins check Analysys Toolpak.

Under Tools-Addins, make sure the Analysis ToolPak Addin is installed.

It should be entered as

=HEX2DEC("cell")
