I have a generic template I created for daily work reports. They include all
employees (names and numbers in different columns) on the crew, all the equipment, the hours, and a brief description of the work accomplished. There are five of these worksheets in the workbook (Mon. - Fri.). I want to automatically send the hours for each employee to a summary page at the end. (to be used as the final timecard for payroll). The trick is that the order of the employees in the template changes. Sometimes an employee in cell a5 on tuesday is in a7 on thursday, for example. Is there a way to link the data in one column based on the information in another column? Sort of like a sumif, but instead of using the information in that cell, use info. from another cell. (if cell a4 in sheet 1 is employee #042, then cell c9 in sheet 6 is cell d4 from sheet 1.) |
