Question Check box formatting

Since I got a great response on my auto tabbing question I'll try one more and again thanks for everyone's input. Is there any way to format a check box such as size, color and adding a dimensonal shadow quality that will actually print. Also I'm having trouble placing the boxes exactly where I want them without lining them up by trial and error. Once in a great while I'm able to copy just the right box where I want it but only in size 15 rows - strange. Being limited the 2000 version here at work probably doesn't help and I can't find any add-ons at Microsoft online.
